Looking after your pieces

Jewelry Care

Handmade jewelry lasts a long time when it’s looked after. A few simple habits will keep your pieces looking the way they did the day they arrived.

01

Last on, first off

Put your jewelry on after perfume, lotion and hairspray, and take it off before you undress. Cosmetics are the fastest way to dull a finish.

02

Keep it dry

Remove pieces before showering, swimming, washing dishes or working out. Chlorine, salt water and sweat all accelerate tarnishing.

03

Clean gently

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wearing. For a deeper clean, use warm water with a drop of mild soap, then dry fully. Avoid abrasive cleaners and ultrasonic machines.

04

Store it separately

Keep each piece in its own pouch or a lined compartment, somewhere cool and dry. Pieces stored loose together will scratch each other.

05

Mind the stones

Natural stones and pearls are softer than metal. Keep them away from heat, direct sunlight and harsh chemicals, and never soak them.

06

Handle with care

Fasten clasps before storing, and lift chains from the clasp rather than pulling on the chain itself to avoid stretching links.
